  1. Paul's Red Sea Reefer 450L

A few shots of tank under blues. The tank will be 4 years old next month and i am really happy with how it has remained stable and still getting good growth and colour across most corals Mind you it definitely needs a trim as a few are too big and starting to restrict flow from end to end Was able to get some nice shots of a few corals starting to pop under blues And finally one of my favourites, a gold rush monti Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

A beast of a tank with thick glass, 15mm front and 12 mm sides and is a quality build. Saw a good offer on eBay, tank is only 4 months old with much of the kit being a lot newer so decided to take this route as substantially cheaper than buying new. As already mentioned on another thread the family took a road trip to Derby on Sunday to collect in 2 cars but we had to leave much of the water behind as just not enough room. Once home it took 5 of us to move in to the dining room for a perfect fit. Fortunately I had the existing tank still running and also set up 2 spare nano tanks just in case I needed to use. Glad I did as only managed to fill tank to half way and put live rock in with wave makers and heater to prevent die off before we gave up for the evening, a very long day. I have a bubble coral frag cut and settled for last 3 weeks or so. Nice and plump with tentacles extending to feed so would say it is ready Are you still interested? Paul Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Paul's Red Sea Reefer 450L

I am going to frags some pieces at weekend and then let them rest for a couple of weeks to ensure they plump up and tentacles extend for feeding. Will let you know when ready Paul Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Paul's Red Sea Reefer 450L

Fragged my bubble coral a month ago and then saw a pic of when I first got it, about 4 years ago. Frag when I 1st bought it Colony last night Fragged from a colony a month ago Definitely a slow grower as not fragged before but nothing beats growing out a frag over time into something substantially bigger. Need to frag a few more pieces as tentacles are now extending into other corals and it is bloody aggressive Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. With the above ban coming in during the past 7 days and many of the FB groups being closed down where are people selling, buying and swapping their corals? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Not a lot happening with tank as ticking over nicely. Fish are nice and healthy and the 4 peacock wrasse have grown and coloured up well. This is one of my favourites though and eats frozen too I have however picked up some nice frags though that cost me a few pennies - Beach bum Tropic thunder Gold rush and A very small red Goni Will place onto rocks once settled Have 19 fish and have more than enough room and bioload for probably another 10ish but undecided in what to add, no rush though Paul Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Paul's Red Sea Reefer 450L

Stumbled across this photo earlier today of probably my favourite ever coral. This was taken about 2 years ago and since then it almost perished but rescued 2 heads that are now 5 so only another couple of years to get it back to this beauty. Paul Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Your call but i would switch off the pearls and check parameters twice per week and see what happens. The downside is once you switch off the bacteria will die once removed so you will have to do something else, should they have actually been working and ALR takes time to kick in. I have an ALR1 and rowa and the combination takes care of both po4 and n03 but every set up is different. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

tank has been relatively untouched since setting up but corals have taken over and the flow in tank is not as good as it once was. Gonna clear some rock and corals. Yes I have said that before, so yesterday I removed a piece of rock and coral that must be about 15 inches high and 7 to 8 inches wide. I have fragged all of the colonies and are now sitting in the frag tank. This is before And this is after Now need to clear the sand bed as lots of dead frags and also to the left of the rock is a pocillopora damicornis which has grown out of nowhere and whilst that is great it is not wanted. The before photo was taken on 16th November and in a month the top section has grown rapidly. Cannot believe it. Paul Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

You can run it external but make sure you get jubilee clips otherwise you could have the pipe work pop off. Did you get cheats with it? Will take a bit of time to kick in so I would increase water changes and limit feeding. Difficult to say about pearls as do not know what affect it is having. Do you have a phos reactor working Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  18. Paul's Red Sea Reefer 450L

Bought and set up the d&d jump guard a couple of months back and gotta say I am impressed. Solid build and whilst fitting the netting onto the frame was a pain it looks a lot better than I thought. Has a low profile and although there were a couple of cut out gaps for Ecotech RSM I have extended the netting to cover them. One added bonus is that I have my hands out of the tank more which must be good for water quality and less stress on the fish. Paul Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

2 months is not that long to have a pearl reactor running but should of started to affect tank by now. I have the ALR1 and was not sure at 1st but since it settled in and biopellets stopped it has sorted nitrates. Takes time though as algae needs to grow out Paul Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
